The BART New Transbay Rail Crossing will serve the San Francisco Bay Area for BART, Caltrain, and Amtrak with construction of a 2nd Transbay Tube underneath the San Francisco Bay. BART and Capital Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) have partnered to advance the project. This program will both double BART’s Transbay capacity to accommodate future overcrowding and create a new link for regional rail to connect travelers within Northern California.
